If the transfer goes ahead, as a tenant transferring from North Devon District Council, we are able to guarantee:
The Rent You Pay
Our 30 year plan aims to limit annual rent increases to no more than inflation plus 1% each year.
In the first five years we can guarantee that you annual rent increase will be limited to no more than inflation plus 1%. If you live in a sheltered scheme, this includes the cost of your warden service.
Your entitlement to claim Housing Benefit will not be affected by the transfer
Your Rights
The main rights you have now will be protected in your tenancy agreement.
These rights will match as closely as possbile those you have now with the Council, including security of tenure, the Preserved Right to Buy and the Right of Succession (to pass on your home to a relative).
Repairs and Improvements to Your Home
A 5-year programme of catch up repairs, needed to put all homes in a good state of repair, will be carried out together with a continuing programme of planned maintenance to keep homes in a good condition into the future.
A £11.8 million programme of modernisations and improvements including windows, central heating, kitchens and bathrooms. As now, some works will carry an increase in rent, but you can choose not to have that work done if you wish.
A major programme to improve security, parking areas and the environment.
Works to pre-cast reinforced contrete (PRC) homes to bring them to a current mortgageable standard.
Local Services, Local People
We will provide housing services from local offices.
Most of our staff will be those who currently provide the service for the Council, so you will continue to deal with people you know.

We guarantee that one third of the places on our decision-making Board of Management will be for tenants, giving you a greater say than ever before.
We are fully committeed to working with the Tenants' Panel.
New Homes for Rent
We plan, with additional financial support of the Council, to provide suitable and affordable new homes to rent for local people.
