Regional Development Funding Success! - 03.08.2006

GOOD NEWS FOR FORCHES RESIDENTS

North Devon homes has been working closely with  Forches Residents Association
and a number of other key partners to improve services and the environment of the Forches estate in Barnstaple.

An application for European regional development funding (ERDF) was submitted to The Government Office for the South West and another bid to the South West of England Regional Development Agency (RDA).   At the end of January 2006 we were told our applications had been successful.

The funding which is a combination of contributions from partners and money from ERDF & RDA will mean that in addition to improving the houses,  North Devon Homes will be working in partnership to lead improvements to a number of services and to the appearance of the area.

Residents of the wards of St Marys and Trinity will play an important part in the design and planning of improvements.

A 3d model of the area will be created providing residents with an opportunity to ‘plan for real’®.

The Forches Community Association Office will be the central point with the Links centre in Forches avenue and Whiddon Valley Community Centre providing venues for community events and projects.

If you live in the area and would like to get involved in helping us make these improvements – we would love to hear from you…….  it is really important to us that people of all ages and all circumstances get to have their say – we want to be sure that everyone’s views are considered and that everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
