Property Adaptations

North Devon Homes is committed to enabling older, disabled and vulnerable people to maintain their independence and ensuring that their homes are safe and convenient to use. We want to deliver a quick and responsive minor adaptations service in support of adaptations requested by social services.

If you require any disabled adaptations to your property, you will first need to arrange for an Occupational Therapist to visit you in your home to make an assessment of the works required. This can be arranged by contacting Care Direct on 0845 155 1007 or you can visit their website www.devon.gov.uk/caredirect. North Devon Homes will not accept a request for minor adaptations without a referral from an Occupational Therapist.

* North Devon Homes Property Services - for the provision of grabrails, stair rails, removal of door thresholds and the fitting of simple ramps etc.

* James Electrics - will carry out electrical works such as re-positioning electrical sockets and lighting requirements.

* Dave Mason Plumbers - will carry out works such as the installation of bathroom or kitchen lever taps.
