Governance and Policy
As a not-for-profit company, we follow a strict set of governance structures across our group. North Devon Homes (NDH) has a subsidiary called Anchorwood Ltd. This company develops and sells housing on the open market, and all profits are invested directly back into NDH, allowing us to build more affordable housing for people in North Devon.
In 2004 we set up a partnership with three other south west housing associations to form the Advantage South West partnership, of which NDH holds a 25% share. Since its formation, the group has added more members across the south west and created a committee of like-minded organisations to help combat the housing crisis in the area.
Our Group Governance Structure
Having an effective governance system in place is essential to running a successful organisation. At NDH, we have a number of measures in place to help:
- A skilled Board for the NDH business
- A skilled Board for the Anchorwood Ltd business
- A dedicated Executive Team
- Subcommittees for Audit and Risk and Remuneration
- A Customer Board Partnership (CBP) committee
- A Customer Scrutiny Panel
NDH follows the National Housing Federation’s codes of governance and standards. We regularly assess our compliance and report our outcomes in our annual Financial Statements and Annual Report to Tenants, both of which you can download on our Performance page.
