Community spaces available for group events and activities hire

If you are a community group looking for a space to meet for choir practice, exercising, crafting, coffee mornings, theatre rehearsals or dancing, to name just a few, we have a range of social areas available for hire.

In the common rooms of our Independent Living Communities, our support officers and volunteers run regular events such as coffee mornings, bingo and film clubs which offers customers the chance to get to know each other and make friends. We want to share this space and philosophy with the wider community to enable more community groups spaces where they can hold their activities and events.

Therefore, our common rooms are a resource that, as well as being enjoyed by our customers, can be hired and enjoyed by the wider community. The rooms have been used by many groups across North Devon and we would love to see more and more of the community using these welcoming spaces.

We have four schemes in Barnstaple, South Molton and Ilfracombe which offer a bright and modern space with fully equipped kitchens. They are available for hire for morning, afternoon and evening slots at just £20 per hour. However, if they will benefit the residents living in the schemes, then the hire charge is free.

The venues to hire include:

As a community landlord we are committed to creating communities where people want to live. That is why, alongside our affordable housing, we also have these Independent Living Communities. These schemes give the over 55’s a safe place to enjoy and live independently whilst also receiving an additional level of support.

These communities are well maintained and offer all the same services as our affordable housing but in addition have communal areas such as gardens, laundries and common rooms where residents get to meet one another and have a real sense of community.

We welcome groups of all varieties to use the space. To find out more or to check availability and book a venue, please contact us on 01271 312500 or email [email protected]
