Energy Efficiency

We were successful in bidding for funding from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF). This is a UK government initiative aimed at improving the energy efficiency of social housing.

The fund is designed to upgrade social homes to make them more energy-efficient and reduce carbon emissions.

It's goals are to:

  • Improve Energy Performance: Bring homes up to at least Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band C.
  • Reduce Carbon Emissions: Install decarbonised heating systems to cut down on the use of fossil fuels.
  • Tackle Fuel Poverty: Help residents save money on energy bills by making homes more efficient.
  • Support Green Jobs: Create jobs in the construction and home retrofit sectors.

In essence, the SHDF aims to make social housing warmer, cheaper to run, and better for the environment.

These testamonial videos were taken at an event held at Tewsley Close in Bickington near Barnstaple to celebrate the completion of the installation of energy saving measures.

"To all at North Devon Homes, we wish to say a big thank you for all the work done to our little home. All the lads from LivGreen were very kind and polite and anything we asked of them was undertaken, so we are very happy with it all.

Many, many thanks"
