The Northern Devon food bank is part of a national network of Trussell Trust food banks, run in partnership with local churches and organisations. At times of crises, for example if there is a delay in your benefit payments, the food bank will provide 3 days worth of emergency food for single people, a couple or a family.
As part of their package they also provide suggestions on how to use their ingredients to create healthy and balanced meals.
You can get an emergency food voucher from various places around North Devon including North Devon Homes, The Freedom Centre and the Citizens Advice Bureau. Once you have the voucher it can be swapped for a food parcel from one of the local collection points. Don’t forget to take shopping bags with you so you can take your food home.
There are collection points at the following locations:
1. St John’s Community Centre - Barnstaple
2. Supreme House – Bideford
3. The Salvation Army – Ilfracombe
4. Duke Street – South Molton

(If you are a North Devon Homes customer and are unable to get to a food bank location, please let us know as in emergencies we can arrange delivery of a food parcel to your home).
