Anneka Rice confirmed as special guest for the Slade Silver Big Bash

We are delighted to announce that Anneka Rice will be the star guest at the ‘Slade Silver Big Bash’, 25 years after the Slade Vision Centre was built as part of the ‘Challenge Anneka’ TV programme in 1992.

The Slade Vision Centre Committee, working in partnership with local social housing provider, North Devon Homes, is holding the event, supported by the Big Lottery Celebrate fund.

The Chief Executive of North Devon Homes, Martyn Gimber, said “We are absolutely thrilled that Anneka Rice will be attending the Slade Silver Big Bash. Since the Slade Vision Centre was completed as part of the ‘Challenge Anneka’ programme in 1992, it has been a fantastic asset for the local community. It is truly fitting that Anneka is part of the celebrations 25 years later - we are delighted that she will be there to commemorate this important anniversary with local people living in the area.”

The “Slade Silver Big Bash” will be a fun day for local people to enjoy and celebrate this important milestone. The event will take place on Wednesday 12th April from 12 - 3.30pm at the Vision Centre in Slade Valley, Ilfracombe. There will be lots of exciting activities to enjoy including a photo booth, bouncy castle, inflatable pillow smash, animal encounters from Really Wild Learning, meet the Minions, face painting, children’s entertainers Entertainingly Different, street dance and martial arts displays, and performances from local magician Tom Rose and musicians Rough Justice and Chloe Marie Aston.

Entry into the event and most activities are free with people attending also having the opportunity to enjoy some free refreshments.
