Reporting Repairs


You are responsible for reporting repairs that need to be carried out to your home and where applicable to the communal and /or external areas surrounding your home.

  • If you live in sheltered accommodation, you may also inform the Independent Living Officer if there is one present

When you report a repair we will need to know

  • Your name, address and a contact telephone number
  • What and where the problem is
  • How serious the problem is e.g., is the problem a health and safety risk such as a ceiling collapsing, or causing damage to the property e.g. a major leak
  • Your availability for an appointment
  • Any other details you can provide such as photos, sizes, colour, materials etc
  • For more complex repairs we may send a surveyor out to assess the repair prior to raising a works order. Our surveyor will attend within 10 working days to make this assessment.

It is very helpful if you can send photos of the problem as this helps with diagnosing repairs.

Repair Priorities

We categorise repairs into several priorities as set out below and you will be informed as to the priority of the repair ticket when it is raised. It is based on the following:

  1.  The risk to health and safety of the people living in your home
  2. The risk of damage to the property
  3. The needs of the household
  4. The external environment such as weather conditions etc

The table below sets out the priority and the target timescales for completing repairs:
